A bit about me
My Journey in Golf
I’m a fully qualified PGA Professional, currently based at Sweetwoods Golf Club in Sussex and the Sevenoaks Golf Studio. Golf has been at the centre of my life for as long as I can remember. I first picked up a club at just three years old, and from that moment on, the game has been in my veins. My father, a highly regarded coach who worked across both the US and Europe, was my first teacher and mentor. Those early days learning from him not only gave me a solid foundation but also instilled in me the love and respect for the game that still drives me today.
As I grew up, golf quickly became more than just a hobby—it was my identity. In my youth I represented my county, which at the time was one of the strongest in the country, and those experiences eventually led to being selected for the England U18s team. Competing at that level gave me a taste of the dedication and discipline required to play at the top. Soon after, just before my 18th birthday, I made the bold decision to turn professional. Looking back, I sometimes think I could have stayed amateur a little longer, but at the time I was eager to test myself against the very best. It was a big decision for a teenager, but one that shaped everything that followed.
Over the next 15 years, I had the privilege of competing all over the world. I played on the then called European Challenge Tour, Alps Tour, EuroPro Tour, Asian Tour, and South African Sunshine Tour. Along the way, I shared fairways with some of the game’s biggest names, including Rory McIlroy, Darren Clarke, Lee Westwood, and Paul McGinley. I also had the opportunity to learn from some of golf’s most respected coaches—Hank Haney, Matt Belsham, and Denis Pugh—whose influence played a huge role in shaping both my game and the philosophy I now use in coaching my own students.
But golf, like life, isn’t without its challenges. In 2014, I suffered a serious injury that kept me out of the game for almost 15 months. It was one of the toughest periods of my career. Yet that time away gave me perspective and a renewed determination. I came back with a fresh outlook and, incredibly, managed to win one of my first events back at none other than my favourite course—Valderrama. That victory was a turning point. It reminded me why I love this game and showed me the value of resilience, patience, and persistence—qualities I now try to instil in my students.
Since then, I’ve taken a step back from the full-time tour life to focus on coaching and my role at Sweetwoods. I still compete globally, though more selectively, playing in PGA events and Pro-Ams whenever I can. Competing keeps me sharp, but my true passion now lies in helping others discover their potential and enjoy their golf more than ever.
Coaching Philosophy
For me, coaching is deeply personal. I know from my own journey that no two players are the same. People come to golf for different reasons—some to compete, some to improve, some simply for the love of the game. That’s why I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, I take the time to understand each golfer as an individual: their natural movements, their mindset, and their goals. From there, we focus on building a simple, repeatable swing and developing the skills and confidence to make the game more enjoyable and rewarding.
Over the years, I’ve coached players of every level—from complete beginners picking up a club for the first time, to elite players chasing consistency at the highest level. No matter where you are on your golfing journey, my goal is the same: to help you improve, build confidence, and enjoy the game more. There’s no greater satisfaction than seeing my students walk away with a smile, knowing they’ve not just improved their golf, but also found more joy in playing.
Pro-Am Experiences
Alongside coaching, I regularly play in PGA Pro-Am events and always encourage golfers to get involved. These events are fantastic opportunities to experience the game in a fun yet competitive environment. They’re usually held on world-class courses, in top condition, and they offer a day out that combines great golf with great company. For many, playing alongside a professional adds an extra layer of excitement and insight into the game, and I always enjoy leading teams in these events.
